Hillview Assisted Living is Expanding

Posted 5/16/2018

Hillview Assisted Living in Mondovi, Wisconsin will soon be expanding to meet increased demand for its assisted living space.
“This is very exciting to announce. We’ve been seeing a need for more assisted living space at Hillview and now we can accomodate more of our friends and neighbors,” said Grace Lutheran Communities CEO Mike Christensen.
The $110,000 expansion plan will utilize vacant space on the first floor to create twelve new units and common area space. Ten of the units will also have a private bath including a shower.
“The City of Mondovi has always and continues to be very supportive of American Lutheran Communities’ nursing home and assisted living.  Our board of directors recognize that community support needs to be earned and therefore the importance of providing high quality care in a setting that today seniors want is necessary. Across the country seniors are choosing to delay or by-pass long-term nursing home stays and choosing instead to move into an assisted living facility.  A 12-unit expansion will enable us to grow while giving the community a service it desires,” Christensen added.
Christensen says Wisconsin nursing homes face many challenges in 2018.  Wisconsin has seen a number of nursing home closures this past year.  Back in 2013, American Lutheran Communities’ board recognized that to assure the continued success of American Lutheran Homes-Mondovi, diversification was required and began to convert vacant space in the nursing home into assisted living units.  This latest project is simply a continuation of that program and a continued investment in the community.
American Lutheran Communities is managed by Eau Claire based not for profit Grace Lutheran Communities. ALC offers skilled nursing, assisted living and memory care services in both Mondovi and Menomonie, Wisconsin.
